At Black Blossom Alliance, we create and share research that transforms the maternity care system. Our approach combines the rigour of academic research with the richness of lived experience to drive evidence-based, community-led change. We don’t research for the sake of knowledge alone — we aim for outcomes that shift systems and improve lives.

• Lived Experience Advisory Panels – Black mothers and birthing people shape the entire research process, from framing questions to interpreting findings and disseminating results. This ensures our research is relevant, authentic, and grounded in real-world experience.
• Community-led Studies – In collaboration with grassroots organisations, we design and implement studies that explore urgent maternal health issues. These projects challenge traditional power dynamics and elevate community voices as expert knowledge.
• Policy Briefs & Dashboards – We turn data into accessible, actionable content for policymakers, professionals, and communities. Through interactive dashboards and concise briefs, we make sure insights are easy to understand and difficult to ignore.
• Student Support – We mentor the next generation of Black researchers through placements, supervision, and collaborative research projects. By investing in emerging scholars, we help build a research field that reflects the communities it serves.
